The Beauty of Shuffle

When would I ever create a playlist that runs like this:

Make it Rain – theAudition
This is Such a Pity – Weezer
You’ve Made Us Conscious – theAudition
R U Still in 2 It – Mogwai
The Velcro Wallet – Mitch Hedberg
Holly Wood Died – Yellowcard
Something to Sing About – Buffy OMWF Soundtrack
Boys Don’t Cry – The Cure

Yep – never would have thought that would work but it’s kept a constant smile on my face at work this morning (and I really needed that). I guess there’s a certain sense of anticipation that comes with putting your iPOD on shuffle. It’s exciting, “What’s going to come next?” Somewhat distracting when you’re trying to focus? Sure. Hazardous to your occupation when it appears you have bust out laughing for no good reason? Yeah, maybe. A great impetus to avoid the task at hand by writing a useless blog post about nothing? Absolutely!

Now, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the divine iPOD gods decide to put MXPX back to back with some Henry Rollins spoken word, followed by some of the Hairspray soundtrack. That would be interesting, indeed.

About Mama's a Mess

Who am I and what am I doing here? Well, at the end of the day I'm a mother and a wife, a lover of classic monster movies and comic books, of music, TV and movies. I'm a sucker for pop culture. I'm a fangirl. I'm an artist. As my husband always puts it, "Baby, you're a mess!" I have a penchant for creating and collecting. I feed my brain with a mix of anything from hot rods and pin-ups to handmade and natural. I like to dig in the dirt and grow things but sometimes picture myself doing it like Donna Reed. I will always, always choose to wear a dress first. I am head over heels in love with my husband and have a fantastically crazy life with him.
