Refused Art Culture (Street Art Obsession Part III)

Killing time in Coventry, waiting for stores to open and waiting to get my hair cut (at Crazy Mullets, who did a fantastic job I must say) and we stop into Mac’s Backs Books.

We discovered this is a great used book store with an excellent little newstand section – magazines that we don’t see anywhere else. Even though Bryan was hoping to find a copy of The Anarchists and struck out we still came home with some fun.

Refused Art Culture. In their words, “REFUSED Art Culture is an edgy magazine that fuses the youthful culture of fine art, street art, illustration, and independent music into an informative and innovative publication. We feature only the best and diverse “up and coming” artists as well as established artist from various parts of the world.”

I just love it.

I find myself sitting and paging through it randomly. Each time I find different details or pieces that jump out at me. We even found a piece from Pork here in Cleveland. It’s only issue 8. I’m sure they need support. All the issues are available for sale on their website, http://www.refused.nu. Pick one up!

About Mama's a Mess

Who am I and what am I doing here? Well, at the end of the day I'm a mother and a wife, a lover of classic monster movies and comic books, of music, TV and movies. I'm a sucker for pop culture. I'm a fangirl. I'm an artist. As my husband always puts it, "Baby, you're a mess!" I have a penchant for creating and collecting. I feed my brain with a mix of anything from hot rods and pin-ups to handmade and natural. I like to dig in the dirt and grow things but sometimes picture myself doing it like Donna Reed. I will always, always choose to wear a dress first. I am head over heels in love with my husband and have a fantastically crazy life with him.
