Maybe it’s time to catch up on Charlaine Harris?

So, as many of us know, EVERYONE apparently loves True Blood.

I, however, do not.  What DID I love? All the  Sookie books – prior to the True Blood premiere.

I watched the first couple of episodes of the series but, admittedly, I was disinterested after the first 5 minutes (you can see more about that here). Regardless, I still couldn’t wait for the next book to come out. All Together Dead was great – how could I not be?

I started reading From Dead to Worse but I don’t think I ever made it past the halfway point. Sookie was suddenly swearing randomly, the story line felt weak, she wasn’t making any big moves with the Tiger or Werewolf and I just didn’t feel it anymore. And how long ago was that? I never did finish it. Nor have I looked at the others after it.

Now today, as I was perusing Etsy, I stumbled upon this necklace and it made me yearn a little bit.  I LOVED Alcide’s character and part of the reason I think I wasn’t liking the last book I read was because he was getting pushed out of the picture.  This little necklace reminded me of that feeling that I had when I first read the books, though.  I missed it a bit.

I think it might be time to push through the rest of that damn book (everyone told me I should, that it really ended well) and see what wound up happening to those people from Shreveport that I used to like to hang out with so much.

About Mama's a Mess

Who am I and what am I doing here? Well, at the end of the day I'm a mother and a wife, a lover of classic monster movies and comic books, of music, TV and movies. I'm a sucker for pop culture. I'm a fangirl. I'm an artist. As my husband always puts it, "Baby, you're a mess!" I have a penchant for creating and collecting. I feed my brain with a mix of anything from hot rods and pin-ups to handmade and natural. I like to dig in the dirt and grow things but sometimes picture myself doing it like Donna Reed. I will always, always choose to wear a dress first. I am head over heels in love with my husband and have a fantastically crazy life with him.
