I just saw the full cast list for the Twilight movie on www.stepheniemeyer.com. In addition to that, I watched the clips from Entertainment Tonight and MTV about the making of the movie. Now I can’t decide if I’m excited or not.
There’s pieces that fit and pieces that don’t. Watching the clip, Kristen Stewart is beginning to feel a little better. Seeing her with Robert Pattinson feels pretty good (I think the height difference helps a lot – it’s really quite perfect). But Peter Facinelli drives me crazy (playing Carlisle) – he looks ridiculous. The biggest bit of indecision? Jacob of course. Check it out:
This is the first picture I saw of Taylor Lautner who was cast.
He looks about twelve! Now I know that this is a YA read and that Jacob was younger than the rest of characters but this just threw that in my face. So, as I was getting ready to put this post together I came across the picture below…
So this is a little better. But he’s still only 16 – at least in this picture he looks it. And I’ll assume he’s growing his hair out for the part.
At any rate, I am sure that when it comes down to it I will anxiously waiting opening weekend along with everyone else. With fingers crossed…

While I was a little like, huh, the first time I saw this actor as Jacob, I’m making my peace with it now. He’s gonna be fine for the first movie (he looks much older in the second picture, and his smile is so sweet!), and hopefully if they make a second and third movie, he’ll have matured even more! He’ll be great, don’t worry! 🙂
Taylor Lautner was an excellent choice for Jacob. Not so sure about some other charachters though.
Cant wait to see him in action as Jacob in the “Twilight” movie coming out DECEMBER 12!!!!!
People are really driving me crazy. I’m sick of all the “he/she doesn’t look right for the part” nonsense. Bashing Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner just because you had someone else in mind for the part is childish. You have to remember that they are PEOPLE JUST LIKE YOU AND ME. And this is a movie…it’s not going to be exactly what you pictured in your head. This is a great cast, Lautner is a great actor (as are the various others who have wrongfully recieved a bashing) and this is going to be a great movie.
Um…so I really don’t think I was bashing. I hold nothing against Taylor Lautner as a person – frankly I’ve never seen him act. I was just stating an opinion and I think it’s rather ironic that I’m being called childish for it. Have you seen the EW cast photo yet? I think he looks 200% better and seems to fit Jacob really well. Does that make everyone feel better now?
